Using the controls
A. Power switch
This switch is used to switch your COOL-ER on
and off. This is disabled when your COOL-ER
is connected to your computer via the USB
cable.
B. Memory card slot
You can load an SD memory card here, to
hold additional edocuments and audio files.
C. Multi-media button
This button gives access to your COOL-ER’s
audio player and puzzles. You can download
MP3 tracks or audio books onto your COOL-ER
or memory card and listen to them by
attaching headphones through the headphone
socket (K).
D. Portrait/Landscape button
Use this button to change the orientation of
the file you are looking at. This can be
useful if you are reading a technical manual
and looking at a diagram. It will not work
when a menu is displayed.
E. Library button
This button will return you to the library
menu screen where you can see your folders
and files.
F. Menu button
Change your COOL-ER settings by accessing
menus with this button.
G. Control wheel
Enables you to select options from a menu,
turn pages of your ebook and return to
previous screens. Pressing the central button
takes you to the relevant menu for the
screen you are on.
H. Volume control
Can be used to change the volume
(-) and (+).
I. LED
Glows red when COOL-ER is charging and
green when it’s available as a reader. The
LED flashes green while your COOL-ER is
processing. Please wait for it to stop
flashing before pressing any buttons.
J. USB port
Connection port for your USB cable. The
other end of the cable connects to a USB
port on your computer.
K. Headphone socket
Attach headphones here and listen to music
or talking books.
L. Battery cover
There should be no need to replace the
battery, which will recharge whenever your
COOL-ER is attached to a computer. A copy
of each COOL-ER’s serial number is behind
the battery.
M. Restart button
Pressing this button will master reset your
COOL-ER. You should not normally need to
use this control.
