Auto power off
The auto power off menu allows you to select the
length of time your COOL-ER will remain on with
no button clicks before automatically switching
off. Available options are 10, 15 or 20 minutes.
This menu also gives you the option of disabling
auto power off so that your COOL-ER will never
switch off automatically.
Please note that, because only button clicks use
power, leaving your COOL-ER switched on when
not in use uses only a minute amount of power. As
your COOL-ER requires almost no power to display
a page, you may wish to keep your COOL-ER on
indefinitely. The advantage of this is that your
current page of text remains instantly available.
Additionally, the design of the buttons means that
they require a tiny but perceptible click so that
your page will be safe in your handbag or
briefcase.

This shows you the version of software currently
loaded on your COOL-ER.
Battery management
Your COOL-ER is delivered with some charge on
the battery but before you start to use your
COOL-ER it is recommended that you charge the
battery by connecting it to your computer using
the USB cable provided for at least 3 hours.
During normal use, if the audio function is not
being used, the battery charge will last for 8000
button clicks and the battery will not lose its
charge if the COOL-ER is left switched on.
If you are using your COOL-ER to listen to an
audio file a fully charged battery will last for
about 3! hours before needing to be recharged.
If you are listening to music while reading a book
and the battery icon is indicating that there is
very little charge remaining, selecting the Music
Off option from the multi-media menu will ensure
that you can continue to read because battery
use is very low when the audio function is not in
use.
To charge your COOL-ER connect it to your
computer using the USB cable provided. Your
COOL-ER will charge automatically whenever it is
connected to your computer.
A completely discharged battery will take about 5
hours to charge fully but you will be able to use
your COOL-ER after as little as half an hour if you
are not intending to listen to audio files (either
music or talking books).
