Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 1 Getting Started Welcome to the IntelliTrack Warehouse Management System (WMS). System Requirements Before you begin WMS installation, be aware of the latest system requirements. Your system should, at a minimum, meet these requirements. IntelliTrack WMS v7.1 Information for Current WMS Users If you are new to IntelliTrack WMS, skip ahead to the next section “PreInstallation Considerations” on page 3. If you currently use IntelliTrack WMS v5.2 or higher and are upgrading to v7.x, please refer to “Pre-Installation Process when Upgrading” on page 2 and “Data” on page 2.
Quick Start Guide Custom Changes to WMS Custom modifications to WMS are not preserved with WMS upgrades. After upgrading your WMS application, any modifications will need to be reimplemented in the new installation. IntelliTrack WMS v7.1 target workstation PRIOR to the installation of the workstation software. IntelliTrack WMS supports the following operating systems: Windows XP Professional and Windows Vista. Note: If you are using the Microsoft Windows Vista Operating System, make sure that the User Access Control (UAC) is turned off BEFORE INSTALLING your INTELLITRACK SOFTWARE. To disable UAC, go to the Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off.
Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 2 Installing the Workstation Application IntelliTrack WMS v7.x operates in a network environment and involves application and server setup. Before you install the workstation application, determine the setup type: • Single Workstation Setup: All components are installed on a single PC. • Network Setup: Components are installed on a network.
IntelliTrack WMS v7.1 • Server: The machine on which the Microsoft SQL Server Desktop • • • Engine or the full version of SQL server resides. In order to run IntelliTrack WMS, you must establish the server connection. Database: The collection of data that is found in the WMS application. In order to run IntelliTrack WMS, you must establish the database connection. Authentication: The method that IntelliTrack WMS uses to validate your PC’s user status with your SQL Server login name and password.
Quick Start Guide Note: If you already have SQL Server, SQL Express, or MSDE installed on your machine, the installation wizard will detect it and will not install SQL Express. It will install the workstation application and the database. 3. The Destination Location window appears. By default, IntelliTrack WMS will be installed in C:\Program Files\IntelliTrack\WMS. If you want to change the default location, click the Browse button and navigate to the desired location.

From the Select Components window, select Server to install MSDE (if applicable) and the database. When you are ready to continue, click Next.

After the WMS files have been copied to your computer, the Installing window closes and a system update notice appears. 11. When installation is finished, the Finish window appears. Click Finish to close this window and exit the Installation Wizard.
IntelliTrack WMS v7.1 Exiting IntelliTrack WMS To close the WMS workstation application: • Select File > Exit from the main menu to exit IntelliTrack WMS. • Click the Windows Close icon (X) in the upper right corner of the screen. A Note About Sample Data Upon installation, you are provided with sample data. Use WMS with the sample database to become familiar with the application.
Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 3 Registration You must register and activate your software to use the fully licensed version. When registering and activating your WMS software, you must have access to the IntelliTrack License Service, and you must have your product serial number available.
IntelliTrack WMS v7.1 The License Manager is used to add your license to the license service and to monitor your IntelliTrack software licenses. You may open the License Manager in two ways: by using the License Service Tray icon or by using your computer’s Start menu. • • Computer Start Menu: To open the license manager from your computer’s Start menu, select Start > Programs > IntelliTrack > License Service > License Administration Console.

When you receive your license file from IntelliTrack, place it on your local computer. 3. Open the IntelliTrack License Manager, by selecting Start > Pro- grams > IntelliTrack > License Service > License Administration Console. 4. From the IntelliTrack License Manager on your local computer, select File > Add License > Browse. The Load License File dialog appears.

If you are re-installing it, use the Windows control panel to reach Add/ Remove Programs and remove the IntelliTrack WMS, the IntelliTrack License Client, and the IntelliTrack License Service.
