Quick Start Guide The IntelliTrack License Service If you are upgrading from WMS v7 or v8.0 and have the IntelliTrack License Service installed on your system, you may continue to use the existing license service with Intellitrack WMS v8.x Pre-Installation Considerations Note: It is important to read the following information PRIOR to installing IntelliTrack WMS.

Note: If you are using the Microsoft Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows Server 2008 Operating System, make sure that the User Access Control (UAC) is turned off BEFORE INSTALLING your INTELLITRACK SOFTWARE. To disable UAC, go to the Control Panel > User Accounts and Family Safety > User Accounts > Turn User Account Control on or off.

The IntelliTrack License Service The IntelliTrack License Service is installed on one computer in your network during an IntelliTrack WMS Full or Server installation. Usually your system administrator or your WMS administrator determine the network location of the IntelliTrack License Service and also register and activate your WMS software. Once it is installed on your network, IntelliTrack software setup will detect it so that it will not be installed again.

Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 2 Installing the Workstation Application IntelliTrack WMS v8.x operates in a network environment and involves application and server setup. Before you install the workstation application, determine the setup type: • Single Workstation Setup: All components are installed on a single PC. • Network Setup: Components are installed on a network.
IntelliTrack WMS v8.1 • Database: The collection of data that is found in the WMS application. • • • In order to run IntelliTrack WMS, you must establish the database connection. Authentication: The method that IntelliTrack WMS uses to validate your PC’s user status with your SQL Server login name and password. When installing the WMS workstation application, you must know your SQL Server Authentication type. It is either SQL Authentication or NT Authentication.
Quick Start Guide placed in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL directory. The database is attached to this directory. Note: If you already have SQL Server or SQL Express installed on your machine, the installation wizard will detect it and will not install SQL Express. It will install the workstation application and the database. In order to install IntelliTrack WMS, you must have administrative privileges at the PC. To install the application, please refer to the instructions that follow.
IntelliTrack WMS v8.1 install Disk #2 and then click OK. Setup extracts the .NET Framework installation files and installs .NET Framework. This may take several minutes. After installation, a reboot of your PC may be required. After the reboot, remove Disk #2 from the CD-ROM drive and reinsert Disk #1. Restart WMS setup by browsing to the WMSSetup.exe file on Disk #1 of CD and double-clicking on it. • Follow the prompts in the installation setup wizard.

IntelliTrack WMS v8.1 will be used when the software is uninstalled and a rollback is requested. • Select No if you do not want to create backups of all files • Select Yes to create backups of all files • If you select Yes, the Backup File Destination Directory portion of the window becomes enabled. The default backup file destination directory is placed in the IntelliTrack WMS directory.

Network Installation: Server Setup During the server installation, SQL Server 2008 Express is installed on the local machine (the workstation application will access this server). By default, it is placed in the C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL directory of the machine on which it is installed.
IntelliTrack WMS v8.1 • When you click Next, the setup will check for Windows Installer 4.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 on the PC. • If both Windows Installer 4.5 and .NET Framework 3.5 with Service Pack 1 are not detected, setup install Windows Installer 4.5 when you click Next. After installation, a reboot of your PC is required. • After the PC reboots, you must enter WMS setup again by browsing to the WMSSetup.exe file on Disk #1. Double-click on the WMSSetup.exe file to reenter WMS setup.
Quick Start Guide • Database: The name of the database is automatically filled in by the Installation Wizard. If this is a new installation, accept the default database name; setup will create this database. • If you are using an existing database, you must enter the correct database name in the Database field in order for setup to use it. If setup cannot find your database, it will create a new one. If you do not know the name of your existing database, please contact your system administrator.
IntelliTrack WMS v8.1 If the license service is found on your network, a window appears that shows the hostname/IP address and port of the IntelliTrack License Service already installed on your local area network. When you are ready to continue, click Next. 7. The Select Program Manager Group window appears. At this window, it asks you to enter the name of the Program Manager group to add IntelliTrack WMS Installation icons to. By default “IntelliTrack” is chosen as the Program Manager group.

Quick Start Guide If the license service is not found on your network, mark the Install the IntelliTrack License Service on this computer check box to install the license service and either select the default License Service Port, which is 15313, or enter the TCP/IP port on which the IntelliTrack License Service will run. When you are ready to continue, click Next. 7. The Destination Location window appears.

After the files are installed, an update system configuration notice appears. 12. Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 3 Registration You must register and activate your software to use the fully licensed version. When registering and activating your WMS software, you must have access to the IntelliTrack License Service, and you must have your product serial number available.
IntelliTrack WMS v8.1 nents, and add-ons installed on your system/network are activated, which means they run in the fully licensed version. If you are upgrading from WMS v7 or v8.0, you may continue to use your existing IntelliTrack License Service with WMS v8.x. The License Manager is used to add your license to the license service and to monitor your IntelliTrack software licenses. You may open the License Manager in two ways: by using the License Service Tray icon or by using your computer’s Start menu.
Quick Start Guide Using the License Manager to Register and Activate your WMS Software If you have access to the Internet, the easiest way to register and activate your WMS software is through the IntelliTrack License Manager. When you use the license manager to register your WMS software, the registration and activation process is entirely automatic. 1. Select Start > Programs > IntelliTrack > License Service > License Administration Console to open the license manager. 2.
