Installing the Package Track workstation application and the Package Track database on your system. 3. Installing the Package Track batch portable application on each handheld device that will be using it.
Chapter 2 Installation Batch portable application setup and handheld installation involve Remote Data Access (RDA) setup on your PC, Batch Synchronization Utility setup on your PC, and batch portable application installation on your batch portable device. Remote Data Access (RDA) setup and Batch Synchronization Utility setup must be completed PRIOR to batch portable application installation on the portable device.

IIS is included with Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 2003 Server. IIS must be properly setup and configured before the SQL Server and the SQL CE databases will communicate (please refer to “Remote Data Access (RDA) Components Setup” on page 17 for more information). Additionally, if you use Windows Vista/IIS v7.

If a partnership is already established between your handheld device and your computer, you are already able to sychronize the data.
Chapter 2 Installation Windows Mobile Device Center software, it will download and install it automatically from the Microsoft website when you place the device in the cradle. If your computer is not connected to the Internet, you must download and install the Windows Mobile Device Center for Windows vista software from the Microsoft website www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/ devicecenter.mspx.

This section provides an overview of the workstation installation process. After you have setup up IIS, established PC and device communication, and checked your firewall settings, you are ready to install Package Track on the workstation(s) that will be using it.
Chapter 2 Installation Opening the Software on the Desktop Computer • Database: The collection of data that is found in the Package Track SQL application. In order to run IntelliTrack Package Track SQL Server, you must establish the database connection with the server. • Authentication: The method that IntelliTrack Package Track SQL uses to validate your PC’s user status with your SQL Server login name and password. When installing the application, you must know your SQL Server authentication type.

The Domain Name is usually assigned by the network administrator. It s only used in a domain environment. • Domain Security Account: requires a username and password for logging into IIS services. It is only used in a domain environment.

Works in both a domain and workgroup network environment. 2. Recommended when using one workstation and one or more handheld devices. 3. Works with SQL Server, SQL Express, and MSDE.

RDA Setup Option 3 Set the Sync URL setting in the Batch Synchronization Utility to: http:/{IIS Computer name}/{virtual directory name}/sqlcesa35.dll. For more information about the Sync URL setting in the Batch Synchronization Utility, please refer to “Sync URL Setting” on page 34. This option uses two computers; the IntelliTrack workstation application and ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center are installed on the local computer.

(For example, the file location should be similar to this: C:\Program Files\Common Files\IntelliTrack\IIS\sqlcesa35.dll.

Note: If you do not enable the DMS web extension in IIS v7, you cannot synchronize the DMS workstation application and the handheld/batch portable application databases. 1. Go to Control Panel > Administrative Tools and open Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager.
Chapter 2 Installation If it exists, double-click to open the Edit ISAPI or CGI Restriction dialog and make sure that the ISAPI or CGI path is pointing to the correct sqlcesa35.dll. The description should be SQL Server Compact Edition and the Allow extension path to execute check box should be marked. •If SQL Server Compact Edition does not exist, right-click on the empty space; a context-sensitive menu appears. Select Add from the right-click menu; the Add ISAPI or CGI Restriction dialog appears.

Select the top level node (with the compute name) in the left pane of the window. 6. In the right pane of the window, double-click the Handler Mappings selection; the Handler Mappings list appears. 7. In the Name column, ISAPI-dll should be displayed.
Chapter 2 Installation 8. The Edit Module Mapping window appears; make sure that these values are set in this window: Request path:*.dll; Module: IsapiModule; Name: ISAPI-dll. 9. In the Edit Module Mappings window, click the Request Restrictions... button. 10. The Request Restrictions window appears. The Mapping tab is to the front. In the Mapping tab of this window, make sure that the Invoke handler only if request is mapped to check box is marked. Make sure that the File option is selected.

In the Specify the verbs are to be handled field, select the All verbs option. 12. Click OK to close the window. 13. When the ISAPI-dll mappings are complete, set the handler permissions. Click Edit Handler Permissions... under Actions in the right pane of the window. The Edit Handler Permissions window appears.

Please refer to your Quick Start Guide for information about installing the workstation application. After the workstation installation is complete, you may access the DMS Batch Synchronization Utility through the workstation application. 1.

Installing Package Track on the Handheld Device Before you can begin transferring Package Track data from your handheld device, you must install the Package Track application on your handheld device.

Click the drop-down arrow in the Select an installation field, and select the handheld device and operating system that you will use with the Batch Portable application from the list that appears. After your device is selected, click the Install button to install the handheld application.

A dialog box appears, asking you to make sure your handheld device is connected and ready to install the portable application. Click OK to close the dialog box and continue installing the batch portable application. 5. The Installation Setup Wizard appears, welcoming you to the setup wizard.

Chapter 2 Installation Registration Guidelines IntelliTrack DMS contains a license service to track your software’s registration and activation status. The license service is installed with your product and runs automatically. You must register and activate your software to use the fully licensed version of your DMS software. Please have your product serial number available when you register and activate DMS.

The Package Track Workstation Application is used to interface with and maintain the Database; it is installed on a desktop computer. 2. The Package Track Batch Portable Application is used to receive and deliver packages; it is installed on a handheld device with an integrated scanner.

Also, it is a good time to choose your database location. For more information about the available options, and database choices available in Package Track, please refer to the following sections.

Note: When you are using MSDE (without the full version of SQL Server) without a full version of Microsoft Access, this is the only backup and restore option available.

In order to back up your database with the backup.bat utility, the databackup folder in your IntelliTrack Program directory must have read/write access for the service account that SQL Server uses for the server instance containing the database being backed up.

Chapter 4 System Options The Security section in the Options window contains the following options: • Show Login on Desktop: Check this box if you want to force a login at the start up of Package Track on your Package Track Workstation Application. • Require Password on Desktop: This selection becomes enabled if you check the Show Login on Desktop check box. Check this box to require users to also enter their password during a log in to Package Track on the Desktop Computer.

If our technical support department is having difficulty diagnosing a problem with your system, this feature allows you to easily send a copy of your data to our staff. Thus, the application will track the Package Track user who received the package into the system; the intended package recipient; the delivery carrier; the mailroom location of the package; and the package type. This package information comprises the package record.
Chapter 5 Data Entry Recipients Recipients in Package Track represent the final package destination. Hence, a recipient may be a single person, or a department within your organization. Recipients are added and edited from the Recipients window. To reach the Recipients list window, click the Recipients button in the System Info section of the Setup area of the main window. —or— Click Configuration > Recipients from the menu bar. The Recipients list window appears.

Mailrooms A mailroom in Package Track represents the site where incoming and outgoing mail is handled for your organization. By default, Package Track contains one mailroom entry. During setup, you are able to define your default mailroom, and add additional mailrooms. To reach the Mailroom information, click Configuration > Lookup Tables > Mailrooms in the menu bar.

Carriers In Package Track, a carrier delivers packages to your facility. By default, Package Track contains eight carriers. You are able to add and edit carriers, as well as Tracking Number(s) for the carrier from the Carriers window. To reach the carrier information: Click Configuration > Lookup Tables > Carriers in the menu bar.

Make the desired change(s) and then click OK to save the change(s).

Package Types Package types in the Package Track application describe the package. Examples include: letter, small box, large box, and parcel, first class, priority, and next day air. Email notifications are configured in the Notifications area of the main window. To reach the notifications area of Package Track, click Notifications in the Navigation Menu of the main window; or, click Configuration > Notifications from the menu bar. The Notifications area of the main window appears.
Chapter 6 Notifications Setting Up Email Notification Server Settings Email notification in Package Track is initiated in the Package Track application. Depending on your settings, Package Track will automatically send an email notification for any recipient designated to receive email notification when a package is received into the system for the recipient. Package Track will trigger the email based on the last email that was sent.

You will find two types of reports in Package Track: standard and custom. Report Preview, Print, and Export Options • Standard Reports: A Package Track standard report cannot be modified. • Custom Reports: A Package Track custom report can be modified. Also, you can add a new custom report to the application.
Chapter 7 Reports Format: Click the drop-down arrow and select the export format for the report from the list of file types available. File types supported include Excel (.xls Excel 97-2003 format), HTML, PDF, RTF, Text, and TIFF. Save As: Enter the report name in this field, and then click the Browse button to navigate to the location where you would like to save the file. Note: The following sections assume that you are using an integrated bar code scanner or an add-on scanner with your handheld device. Package Track integrates with a handheld device that uses an integrated scanner or an add-on scanner. By using a handheld with an integrated scanner or an add-on scanner, you are able to: 1.

Scanning is generally activated by a button on the handheld device. • Add-on: Scanner is a third party device that connects to the device via an expansion slot. Scanning is generally activated by a floating “scan trigger” icon that appears on the handheld device screen. The action of scanning a package is described for each device category in the sections that follow.

When you transfer data via the handheld device options, the application will use the sync configuration settings that have been established in the Batch Synchronization Utility.
Chapter 9 Using the Handheld To transfer data, make sure that your wireless connection to the PC is established. Use the Sync menu options in the handheld application to send data to the PC and receive data from the PC. Data synchronization with Package Track occurs via the wireless connection to the PC.

If your application is not registered, you cannot upload data from the handheld application to the workstation application.
