System Requirements Before you begin ISRP installation, be aware of the latest system requirements. Your system should, at a minimum, meet these requirements. IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 Required Batch Portable Settings IntelliTrack ISRP uses Remote Data Access (RDA) for workstation database and portable application database communication. RDA must be configured. In addition, if you use the Microsoft Windows Vista operating system, you must turn on specific IIS settings. Remote Data Access (RDA): Your workstation application database and your CE batch portable application database use Remote Data Access to communicate with each other.

Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 2 Installing your Application IntelliTrack ISRP v7.x operates in a network environment and involves application and server setup. It is available in two versions: • Single Workstation Setup: Uses MSDE or SQL Server to run the • ISRP database. Network Workstation Setup: Requires SQL Server to run the ISRP database. Installation Terms During workstation application installation, you will come across various terms.
IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 • Database: The collection of data that is found in the ISRP application. • • In order to run IntelliTrack ISRP, you must establish the database connection. Authentication: The method that IntelliTrack ISRP uses to validate your PC’s user status with your SQL Server login name and password. When installing the ISRP workstation application, you must know your SQL Server Authentication type. It is either SQL Authentication or NT Authentication.
Quick Start Guide 3. The Destination Location window appears. By default, IntelliTrack ISRP will be installed in C:\Program Files\IntelliTrack\ISRP. If you want to change the default location, click the Browse button and navigate to the desired location. When the location is correct, click Next to continue. 4. The Backup Replaced Files window appears. It asks you if you want to create backups of all files replaced during the installation.

It will only install the database. 1. Insert the CD in the CD-ROM drive. The Welcome window appears, welcoming you to IntelliTrack ISRP. Click Next to continue. 2. The Registration Information window appears. It contains three fields: Name: Enter the name of the registered owner in this field.
Quick Start Guide • MSDE/SQL Server: (Local) is automatically filled in by the installation wizard. Enter the server name and server instance (if applicable), the database name, and the server login information in this window. • Database: The name of the database is automatically filled in by the Installation Wizard. If the database name is different, please enter the name in this field. If you do not know the name of the database, please contact your network administrator.
IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 6. The Configure IIS window appears. This window contains the Auto- matically Configure IIS option, which pertains to systems that use CE Batch portables. When performing a separate server installation, UNMARK this check box. (Do not select this option during a separate server installation.) If you are using CE Batch, you must configure IIS manually when you install a separate server installation.

Before you begin installing the workstation application, be sure you know the MSDE/SQL Server machine and the database name. Quick Start Guide • NT Authentication: If your system uses NT Authentication, mark the NT Authentication check box; if your system uses NT Authentication, you will use your Windows username and password when you log into MSDE or SQL Server. When you are ready to continue, click Next. 7. The IntelliTrack License Service window appears. The license service manages the registration and activation for IntelliTrack ISRP. IntelliTrack ISRP requires one copy per network of the license service.

After the ISRP files have been copied to your computer, the Installing window closes and a system update notice appears. 13. When installation is finished, the Finish window appears. Click Finish to close this window and exit the Installation Wizard.
Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 3 Batch Portable Setup and Installation If you elect to install the Batch Portable component, please consult this chapter for CE Batch setup and CE Batch application installation on the batch portable device. Important: Make sure your batch portable device is a supported device. For a complete list of supported devices, please refer to the hardware matrix on our website: www.intellitrack.net/hardwarematrix/hardwarematrix.aspx.
IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 For Windows Vista Operating Systems: Your batch portable device and your PC use the Windows Mobile Device Center Software for Vista and the Sync Center to communicate with each other. Make sure that a two-way sync partnership is established between your PC and your device. Also, make sure that your device is a sync center supported device that uses Windows Mobile Device Center software. 2.
Quick Start Guide If you use IIS v7.0, you must turn IIS on and enable specific settings PRIOR to installing ISRP. Please refer to “Required Batch Portable Settings” on page 6. Please see your network administrator if you have questions about the network connection status on your computer or any questions about IIS. 6. The Sync URL setting is the network path to the remote server/IIS location. The Sync URL dll allows the batch portable device to communicate with the workstation application database.
IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 Remote Data Access Configuration Options Before you install the CE Batch application on the batch portable device, you must determine and configure the Remote Data Access configuration option for your system. Important: Remote Data Access setup deals with advanced network settings. Consult your system administrator to determine the best Remote Data Access (RDA) setup option for your system. IntelliTrack ISRP applications support four basic RDA configurations.
Quick Start Guide Option 2: Uses two computers. The workstation application, IIS, and ActiveSync or Windows Mobile Device Center Software for Vista reside on one local computer; SQL Server resides on a remote computer. This option only works in a domain environment with SQL Server or SQL Express. It DOES NOT work with MSDE. When you use this option, please be aware of the following security requirements: • • • • • The installer must have administrative privileges on the PC.
IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 • • Since IIS and SQL Server reside on the same computer, the Create IIS Dependencies Utility (Start > Programs > IntelliTrack > IntelliTrack Application > Create IIS Dependencies) may be used to configure IIS and SQL Server permissions with this setup option. When you run the IIS Utility, it creates the virtual directory, and adds the Internet user to the WMS_USER role in SQL Server. Verify the Sync URL setting in the Batch Portable Utility.

Replace permissions on all sub folders and files to ensure that the Internet user can create files and execute programs. 5. The Internet user’s domain account must be added to the WMS_USER role in the database. This requires knowledge of SQL Administration.

(The virtual folder physical path is configured from the Edit Application window. Reach this window by selecting the IntelliTrack virtual folder and then selecting Edit Application > Basic Settings in the task bar to the right.

If it exists, verify the settings: Request path: *.dll; Module: IsapiModule; Name: ISAPIdll. If ISAPI-dll does not exist in the list, you must add it. To add ISAPI-dll, select Add Module Mapping under the Actions selection found in the right pane of the window; the Add Module Mappings dialog appears.

Verifying RDA Setup To verify that your IIS dependencies are setup and functioning properly, go to the Options form\System tab in the Batch Synchronization Utility (to open this form, select Tools > Options from the menu bar). Type your Sync URL setting into your Internet browser’s address bar. Next select the Test Sync URL button.

If you are using the Windows XP operating system, this section does not apply to you. If you are using the Windows Vista or Windows Server 2008 Operating System, you must configure the ITIRegistration Application Pool in IIS Manager in order to upload data to the workstation application.

Quick Start Guide CHAPTER 4 Registration You must register and activate your software to use the fully licensed version. When registering and activating your ISRP software, you must have access to the IntelliTrack License Service, and you must have your product serial number available.
IntelliTrack ISRP v7.1 The License Manager is used to add your license to the license service and to monitor your IntelliTrack software licenses. You may open the License Manager in two ways: by using the License Service Tray icon or by using your computer’s Start menu. • • Computer Start Menu: To open the license manager from your computer’s Start menu, select Start > Programs > IntelliTrack > License Service > License Administration Console.
