Standard USB 1.1 and 2.0 printers can easily be shared among Windows
usersonthenetworkwiththebuilt-inUSBprinterserver.NOTE: Some
orallfunctionsofmulti-functionprintersmaynotwork,dependingon
thedriversupportbytherespectiveprintermanufacturers.Makesure
theharddiskhasbeeninitialized.(ThestatuscolumnontheHardDisk
Statusscreenshoulddisplay“Ready.”)
Connect a USB printer to
the USB port on the NAS
andturniton.Locatethe
NAS in My Network Places
andselectitbydouble-
clicking the icon. When
prompted,enteravalid
usernameandpassword.
You’llseetheprinterport
nexttothesharesforthe
device.Double-clickthe
PortAprintericonandfollow
theinstructionstoinstallthe
printerdriveratthelocal
station. NOTE: Youmay
needtoselect“HaveDisk”
andinsertyourprinter’sdriverCDduringtheinstallationprocess.
Oncethedriverinstallationiscompleted,youshouldbeabletoselect
theprinterfromtheprinterlistinanyWindowsapplication.Youcan
managetheprinterthesamewayyouwouldanyothernetworkedprinter
underWindows.
