INDUSTRIAL ETHERNET SWITCHES
INTELLINET NETWORK SOLUTIONS industrial grade network LAN switches and media converters have been designed to focus on
Ethernet deployment in automation applications (such as factories). The new products listed below have been specially developed for
industrial Ethernet applications with all concerns for industrial environments taken into consideration, including network redundancy
features and robust mechanical form factors.
These products are manufactured using a one-piece formed aluminum case to provide a rugged, acid corrosion-proof and heat resistant
solution. The terminal block and ventilation holes are placed on the bottom side of each unit to reduce the chance of damage due to
dust and moisture entry. They come with special brackets that allow them to be installed on a DIN rail just as circuit breakers and
other industrial control equipment are installed inside equipment racks.

“I am currently using the 5 and 8 port Industrial Fast Ethernet Rail Switches in areas with heat and coal dust issues with excellent results. I have replaced NetGear and other
brands of switches in this application that could not withstand the environment. The effi ciency of the network has also increased as confi rmed by monitoring completion times of
read/write commands to ethernet I/O modules in a PLC application. I have used Hirschmann industrial switches but was not impressed with their all plastic cases as opposed to
the Intellinet all metal cases. Intellinet Industrial Switches offer equal and usually more features than other brands at up to one half the cost. For example I use the Industrial Managed
Fast Ethernet Rail Switch that has two fi ber ports, six copper ports, redundant ethernet Super Ring, and many other features. A Hirschmann basic, plastic case, un-managed switch
with two fi ber ports and only three copper ports is nearly the same price while a Hirschmann managed switch similar to the Intellinet switch is double the cost.”
