4.2.8 Protecting the lines and extensions
The trunk and extension boards have protection from voltage fluctuations but this
protection cannot be used as primary protection. You must set a primary protection
outside the PABX box As placas de ramais e troncos (juntores) possuem
supressores de transientes de tensão. Fot the extensions, a (10R-5W) wire
resistance and a polyswitch nust be installed between the varistor in the board and
the external gas. The trunk line does not require such setup. We recomend
installing devices that are encapsulaed alongwith the centelhador and resistor. The
resistor must operate as a current regulator between the varistor and the
centelhador a gás to allow it to function properly. If the centelhador is not installed
or not working, the resistor will function as fuse.
Attention
: the centelhador a gás has a limited lifecycle based on the number of
times it is being used and the amount of energy used. Once its lifecycle exires, it
should be replaced.
