This assumes that the Gateway DHCP is still on – which
it is on by default, when in gateway mode.
The adapter is set to obtain an IP address
automatically
You can verify the PC adapter is set correctly by
going to a MSDOS or command prompt. At the
command prompt type:
ipconfig /all
(leave a space before /all)
Verify the default Gateway address is
192.168.0.254. If the IP address is correct, but
the Welcome screen still doesn’t come up, then
restart your PC.
In your Web browser, specify to not use a proxy
server when connecting to the Internet (refer to
your browser’s help pages for information).
The adapter is set to obtain a DNS address
automatically for Windows 2000
The adapter has DNS disabled for Windows 98,
Windows 98SE, or Windows ME.
Solution B Wireless Network
Follow the above solutions for a wired network
Verify that there is a wireless client connected – the
gateway’s Wireless Link LED (third from the right in
the bank of eight LEDs) will blink green when it
detects traffic.
Verify that your wireless adapter is set to operate in
Infrastructure mode and uses the same Network ID
(SSID) code and encryption settings as the gateway.
Problem I can’t share files and printers among the PCs on my
network
