Chapter 3 – Setting up the Gateway with a Network

Transfer Rate By default, the transfer rate between wireless

devices is automatically determined. Generally, you

will not need to change this value. However,

decreasing the transfer rate may enable you to

transmit across greater distances.

Header Length (Preamble) The Header length is the format for labeling the

information sent between devices. The only available

setting is Long. The short header length is not

supported because not all wireless devices support

this feature. You must set all your other wireless

devices, to which the gateway is connected, to Long

(typically the default setting).
