Description
Intel® Workstation Board WX58BP, with PBA# D64644-203 (AA# D64643-203) or later (please refer to the white sticker
on the motherboard for this information), does not support BIOS revisions prior to R0042.
The affected product is the Intel® Workstation Board WX58BP.
Root Cause
PBA# D64644-203 incorporates a new BIOS flash component to replace a discontinued part.
Corrective Action / Resolution
Intel recommends users of the affected board not to downgrade BIOS to versions prior to BIOS version R0042.
Attempting to perform such a downgrade will result in the motherboard being rendered inoperable.
Workarounds
Performing a BIOS recovery using BIOS R0042 (or later) is the only recommended workaround in instances where
corruption (due to downgrading) has rendered the motherboard inoperable. The BIOS recovery process is documented
in the BIOS release notes.
