The BIOS Setup Utility allows you to set the system functions and the hardware
con¿guration for the notebook.
When a notebook is delivered, the factory default set tings are effective. You can change
these settings in the menus of the BIOS Setup Utility. Any changes you make take
effect as soon as you save and exit the BIOS Setu p Utility.
The BIOS Setup Utility program contains th e following m enus:

Displays information relating to the BIOS, processor and notebook
System
Advanced system settings
Advanced
Con¿guration of various hardware compo nents, such as mouse, keyboard,
processor
Security
Password settings and security functions
Boot
Con¿guration of the start-up sequence
Exit
Exits the BIOS Setup Utility
Starting the BIOS Setup Utility
Ź Reboot the devi
ce (switch off/on or r eboot the o perating system).

Depending on the setting for Fast Boot in the BIOS-Setup-Utility, the following
noti¿cation may appear on the scre en during start-up:

Ź If a passwo rd has been a ssigned, enter the password and pre ss the Enter key.
If you have forgotten the password, contact y our system administrator
or contact our customer service center.
The BIOS Setup Uti lity starts.
