8. Install the processor and the heat sink. For instructions, see “Installing the

9. Install the system memory. For instructions, see “Installing DIMMs”.
10. Connect the data cables. For data cable routing information, see “Cable Routing”.
11. Connect the power cables. For power cable routing information, see “Cable
Routing”.
12. Install the PCIe* Riser assembly. For instructions, see “Installing the PCIe* Riser
Assembly”.
13. Install the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Installing the Processor Air
Duct”.
14. Install the server system cover. For instructions, see “Installing the Server System
Cover”.
15. Plug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable into the server.
Replacing the CMOS Battery
Caution: The CMOS battery is NOT hot-swappable. Before removing or replacing the CMOS
battery, you must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices
connected to the system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug the
AC power cord from the system or wall outlet.
The lithium battery on the server board powers the RTC in the absence of power. When
the battery starts to weaken, it loses voltage, and the server settings stored in CMOS RAM
in the RTC (for example, the date and time) may be wrong. For a list of approved devices,
contact your customer service representative or dealer.
Warning: Danger of explosion if battery is incorrectly replaced. Replace only with the same or
equivalent type recommended by the equipment manufacturer. Discard used batteries
according to manufacturer's instructions.
Advarsel: Lithiumbatteri - Eksplosionsfare ved fejlagtig håndtering. Udskiftning må kun ske med
batteri af samme fabrikat og type. Levér det brugte batteri tilbage til leverandøren.
