Back Plane (HSBP) Overview
The Intel
®
Server Chassis SC5600 4HDD or 6HDD Active SAS/SATA Hot-swap Backplane
(HSBP) is a monolithic PCB. The architecture is based on the Vitesse VSC7161* SAS Expander
with enclosure management controller and has support for up to six SAS or SATA drives.
The 4HDD and 6HDD SAS/SATA HSBP supports the following feature set:
 1.5 Gbps and 3.0 Gbps self-configuring Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) Expander with
embedded v3000 processor (Vitesse* Stanford-I 32-bit RISC CPU) for local control and
Expander or enclosure management functions
