When re-inserting the riser assembly into the system, tabs on the back of the assembly should
be aligned with slots on the back edge of the system. The tabs fit into the slots securing the
riser assembly to the system when the top cover is in place. For additional information, see the

9.1 Riser Card Options
The Intel
®
Server Board S5520UR has one riser slot capable of supporting riser cards for both
1U and 2U system configurations. The riser slot (J4E1) implements Intel
®
Adaptive Slot
Technology. This 280-pin connector is capable of supporting riser cards that meet either the
PCI-X or PCI Express* technology specifications. Some risers can support both full-height and
low-profile add-in cards by using a ‘butterfly’ configuration.
