6. Insert the RAID battery backup unit into the server system making sure the hooks
on the underside of the RAID BBU aligns with the matching chassis tabs and slide
towards the power supply until it locks into place (see letter “C” in Figure 64).
7. Connect the cable from the rear of the RAID battery backup unit to the midplane
board (see letter “D” in Figure 64).

8. Install the power distribution board cover. For instructions, see “Replacing the
Power Distribution Module” on page 84.
9. Install the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Installing the Processor Air
Duct” on page 49.
10. Install the PCI riser assembly into the server system. For instructions, see
“Installing the PCI Riser Assembly” on page 44.
Removing the RAID Battery Backup Unit
To remove the RAID battery backup unit, follow these steps:
1. Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see “Removing the PCI Riser
Assembly” on page 43.
2. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Removing the Processor Air
Duct” on page 48.
3. Remove the power distribution board cover. For instructions, see “Replacing the
Power Distribution Module” on page 84.
4. Remove the cable from the rear of the RAID battery backup unit and the midplane
board (see letter “A” in Figure 65).
5. Slide the RAID battery backup unit forward and lift from the server system (see
letter “B” in Figure 65).
