7. Install the PCI riser assembly into the server system. For instructions, see
“Installing the PCI Riser Assembly” on page 44.
Removing and Installing the Midplane Board
The following sections describe how to replace the midplane board.
Removing the Midplane Board
To remove the midplane board, follow these steps:
1. Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see “Removing the PCI Riser
Assembly” on page 43.
2. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Removing the Processor Air
Duct” on page 48.
3. Disconnect all cables from the midplane board.
4. Remove the bridge board as follows:
a. Open the bridge board connector retention clips on the midplane and server
board.
b. Disconnect the bridge board from the connector on the midplane and server
board and lift the bridge board straight up.
