7. Push the rear tab with your finger tip to bring the front end of the load plate open

slightly (see letter “A” in Figure 37).

8. Open the load plate (see letter “B” in Figure 37).

9. Remove the protective socket cover (see Figure 38).

Note: Do not touch the orientation posts on the socket; they are very sensitive and easily

damaged.

Note: Retain the protective socket cover for use when removing a processor that will not be

replaced.
