Removing and Installing the PCI Riser Assembly

Removing the PCI Riser Assembly

To remove the PCI riser assembly, follow these steps:

1. Disconnect any cables attached to any add-in cards.

2. Grasp both riser latches with thumb and forefinger (see letter “A” in Figure 27),

and pull up to release riser assembly.

3. Lift riser assembly straight up ( (see letter “B” in Figure 27).

Caution: Place the riser assembly upside down to avoid damage to the riser card connector.

4. Do one of the following:

— If you need to add or replace a PCI add-in card, see “Installing and Removing a

PCI Add-in Card” on page 46.

— If you need to add or replace a PCI riser connector, see “Replacing the PCI Riser

Card” on page 45.
