Installing and Removing the RAID Activation Key and
the RAID Mini-DIMM (Active Systems Only)
Installing the RAID Activation Key and the RAID Mini-DIMM
To install the RAID activation key and RAID Mini-DIMM, follow these steps:
1. Remove the PCI riser assembly. For instructions, see “Removing the PCI Riser
Assembly” on page 50.
2. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Removing the Processor Air
Duct” on page 56.
3. Remove the large air baffle. For instructions, see “Removing the Large Air Baffle”
on page 70.
4. Install the RAID activation key by pushing straight down into the RAID key socket
(see letter “A” in Figure 105).
5. Install the RAID mini-DIMM as follows:
a. Open both socket levers (see letter “B” in Figure 105)
b. Insert the DIMM into the socket (see letter “C” in Figure 105) making sure the
connector edge of the DIMM aligns correctly with the slot.
c. Push firmly on the DIMM until it snaps into place and both levers close.

6. Install the large air baffle. For instructions, see “Installing the Large Air Baffle” on
page 70.
