The Cold Reset and /Warm Reset commands have additional details that are not covered in the
Intelligent Platform Management Interface Specification 2.0. When one of these commands is
executed, the power-on defaults are restored. The Intel
®
Local Control Panel does not generate
any response data or completion code in response to either reset command.
6.2 Get Device ID
Get Device ID is the most common command used for server management controllers,
including the Intel
®
Local Control Panel. The device ID, device type, and firmware revision
number, are returned in the IPMB Get Device ID command.
6.3 IPMB Commands Sent to Other Controllers
In addition to receiving commands, the Intel
®
Local Control Panel can communicate with other
controllers within a system. The Intel
®
Local Control Panel is capable of issuing IPMI commands
through the IPMB to other controllers See the Intelligent Platform Management Interface
Specification 2.0 for further details on commands.
