3. Product Architecture Overview

The architecture and design of the Intel

Server Board S2400EP is developed around the

integrated features and functions of the Intel

Xeon

processor E5-2400 product family, the

Intel

C602 (-A) chipset, the Intel

Ethernet Controller I350 GbE controller chip, and the Server

Engines* Pilot-III Server Management Controller.

This chapter provides a high-level description of the functionality associated with each chipset

component and the architectural blocks that make up the server boards.

3.1 Processor Support

The Intel

Server Board S2400EP includes two Socket-B2 (LGA-1356) processor sockets and

can support one or two of the following processor:

 Intel

Xeon

processor E5-2400 product family, with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of

up to 95W.

 Intel

Xeon

processor E5-2400 v2 product family, with a Thermal Design Power (TDP)

of up to 95W.
