10. Replace the server board. For instructions, see “Installing the Server Board” on
page 60.
11. Install the processor. For instructions, see “Installing the Processor” on page 36.
12. Install the DIMMs. For instructions, see “Installing DIMMs” on page 33.
13. Install the PCIe* Riser assembly. For instructions, see “Installing the PCIe* Riser
Assembly” on page 53.
14. Reconnect all cables to the server board.
15. Install the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Installing the Processor Air
Duct” on page 31.
16. Install the server system cover. For instructions, see “Installing the Server System
Cover” on page 29.
17. Plug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable into the server.
Installing the Server Board
1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See “Safety
Information” on page iii.
2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.
3. Remove the server system cover. For instructions, see “Removing the Server
System Cover” on page 28.
4. Remove the processor air duct. For instructions, see “Removing the Processor Air
Duct” on page 30.
5. Remove the PCIe* Riser assembly. For instructions, see “Removing the PCIe*
Riser Assembly” on page 52.
6. Place the server board into the server system as shown by letter “A” in Figure 36.
7. Attach the server board with nine screws. See letter “B” in Figure 36.
