Description
During AC power cycle testing Intel found a rare occurrence where data yet to be written to disk from the RAID
controllers cache memory may be lost even though cache protection is enabled by the RAID Maintenance Free Backup
Unit that is installed onto the products listed in above table. The issue has a very low occurrence rate, is difficult to
replicate, and is observed on a small percentage of affected Intel
®
RAID Controllers.
Root Cause
The root cause for this issue has been identified and corrected. The latest RAID firmware version 3.190.05-1669 has a
timing improvement that provides a resolution to this issue.
Corrective Action / Resolution
This issue is corrected in RAID firmware version 3.190.05-1686 included in RAID firmware package version 23.7.0-0031.
Please upgrade your RAID controller firmware to version 3.190.05-1686 via RAID firmware package version 23.7.0-
0031 or later. The latest RAID firmware with the fix is available on the Intel web site at
(http://downloadcenter.intel.com/default.aspx?lang=eng).
