RAID transactions. Cache mode selection takes immediate effect while the server is
online and is available on a per virtual drive basis. The ROC memory controller provides
single-bit ECC error correction with multi-bit detection support.
The Intel
®
RAID Controller RS25AB080 supports Super Cap 2 module.
Super Cap 2 backup unit is an industrial new technology to dramatically enlarge the life
time of the backup unit. There is no need to replace the backup unit with a new one every
year. (Traditional battery backup unit is required to be replaced after being used for one
year, or when 500 learn cycles are reached.) In the Intel
®
RAID Controller RS25AB080
packaging kit, there is also a mounting bracket for holding the Super Cap 2 backup unit.

Diagnostic Components
Audible Alarm
The audible alarm beeps when a drive fails and also during a rebuild. The drive failure
alarm beeps are:
• Degraded array: Short tone, one second on, one second off.
• Failed array: Long tone, three seconds on, one second off.
• Hot spare commissioned: Short tone, one second on, three seconds off.
