5. Connect the provided cables into the adapter using the 4-port combined end. Make
sure the controller and cables are properly attached and plug the cable into
connector at the inside edge of the adapter. If no backplane, or if backplane has 7-
pin SAS/SATA ports, choose miniSAS-to-SATA cables from market, or order
AXXCBL740MS7P from Intel
®
. If backplane has miniSAS ports, choose
miniSAS-to-miniSAS cables from market, or order AXXCBL650MSMS from
Intel
®
.
Note: To prevent throughput problems:
G Use the cables provided or use the shortest possible cable.
G Do not use cables longer than one meter.
G Decrease the maximum length by one foot if you are using a backplane.
G Do not use cross-over cables.
G Only connect to a SATA drive, SAS or SATA backplane, or an
expander device.
G Route the cables carefully.
G Check that the controller and cables are all properly attached.
