Intel® RAID High Availability Clustering solution drive cache is not

disabled; data in the hard drive cache could be lost if the drive is

pulled unexpectedly or power is lost.

Description/Root Cause

The Intel® RAID High Availability solution leaves the hard disk cache unchanged when a virtual

drive is created even when the virtual drive disk cache policy is set to disabled. Due to this issue,

an unexpected power loss or a rapid drive pull and reinsertion could result in the loss of data in

transit through the drive’s cache prior to being written to disk. All firmware releases supporting High

Availability Fail Over Clustering through version 3.330.85-3409 are exposed to this issue.

Corrective Action / Resolution

Intel Raid® High Availability controller firmware ver: 3.330.95-3530 in FW Pkg ver: 23.6.1-0028 or

later resolves this issue. This firmware is available for download on the Intel Support website

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/. Intel recommends that customers update to this or a later version

of firmware at their earliest opportunity.
