10 Types of Caching Configurations
There are three different levels of Intel
®
RAID SSD Cache Controller data caching:
Drive cache (enabled/associated or disabled/disassociated)
Intel
®
RAID SSD Cache Controller DRAM caching used for optimizing RAID
operations (Write Through or Write Back requires power backup)
Nytro caching VD used to accelerate frequently accessed application data

Creating a Nytro Cache Volume
Use the CmdTool2 command in the following table to create a cache drive using the Nytro
Cache. You can use that cache as secondary cache. The Nytro Cache has much greater
capacity than DRAM cache.

Description This command is used to create CacheCade software that you can use as secondary cache.
- Phys
drv[E0:S0,...]: Specifies the physical drive enclosure and the slots to use to
construct a drive group.
- Name
LdNamestring: This is the name given to the Nytro Cache software cache drive.

Deleting a Nytro Cache Drive
Use the CmdTool2 command in the following table to delete a Nytro Cache VD or
multiple cache drives on the selected controllers.
