8 Using Nytro Cache
This chapter helps you use Nytro Cache functionality.
Note: Intel

RAID SSD Cache Controller firmware monitors the I/O performance; it
accommodates the Nytro Cache statistics. The Intel
®
RAID SSD Cache Controller Cache
metric are captured for each virtual drive (VD) that has Cache enabled. The Intel
®
RAID
SSD Cache Controller Cache software collects information about the cache windows
allocated for a VD, the number of new windows allocated in this metric collection period,
the number of windows that are actively used, and the window hit rates.
Associating a Source VD with a Nytro Cache VD
You can associate a source VD and then create a Nytro cache and vice versa.
Associating a Source VD to Nytro Cache VD
Perform these steps to associate a source VD.
• Scenario 1: Create a source VD or use an existing source VD.
1. Right-click the controller and select Enable Nytro Caching on New VD.
2. Select the Enable check box.
