Each system fan is mounted inside its own plastic fan housing which include rotational vibration dampening
features. The fan assemblies are held in place by fitting them over mounting pins coming up from the chassis
base.
The system fan assembly is designed for ease of use and supports several features.
 System fans are NOT hot-swappable.
 Each fan and fan assembly is designed for tool-less insertion and extraction from the system. For

 Fan speed for each fan is controlled by integrated platform management as controlled by the integrated
BMC on the server board. As system thermals fluctuate high and low, the integrated BMC firmware will
increase and decrease the speeds to specific fans to regulate system thermals.
 Each fan has a tachometer signal that allows the integrated BMC to monitor its status.
 Each fan has a10-pin wire harness that connects to a matching connector on the server board.
