Description
Intel has found that systems based on the Intel
®
Server Board S1200V3RP may hang with POST code 0x96 when
recovering from a backup BIOS that is a different version than the primary BIOS.
Root Cause
The issue has been root caused to some changes in the BIOS variable structure. The BIOS goes into recovery mode
with an incorrect variable input.
Corrective Action / Resolution
Make the primary BIOS and the backup BIOS the same version before the BIOS goes into recovery mode.
