Installing or Removing a Slimline Optical Drive

Caution: The optical drive is NOT hot-swappable. Before removing or replacing the optical drive,

you must first take the server out of service, turn off all peripheral devices connected to

the system, turn off the system by pressing the power button, and unplug the AC power

cord from the system or wall outlet.

Installing a Slimline Optical Drive

Notes:

• If you are replacing an optical drive, see “Installing a Slimline Optical Drive” on

page 49 for instructions first. Return to these steps when directed.

1. Observe the safety and ESD precautions at the beginning of this book. See “Safety

Information” on page iii.

2. Power down the server and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power cable.

3. Remove two screws secured the Filler Panel.

4. Remove the Filler Panel.

5. Attach the latch to the optical drive as shown, using two screws.
