Obtaining the BIOS Update File
You can update to a new version of the BIOS by using the BIOS update file. The BIOS update file
is a compressed self-extracting archive that contains all the files you need to update the BIOS. The
BIOS update file contains:
• New BIOS files
• BIOS recovery files
• Intel Flash Memory Update utility
You can obtain the BIOS update file through your computer supplier or from the Intel World Wide
Web site:
http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/

NOTE
Review the instructions distributed with the update utility before attempting a BIOS update.
The Intel Flash Memory Update utility allows you to:
• Update the BIOS in flash memory.
• Update the language section of the BIOS.
Saving the Current BIOS Settings
1. Boot the computer and press <F2> when you see the message:
Press <F2> Key if you want to run SETUP
2. Save the current settings in the BIOS Setup program.
Creating Bootable Media
You can create bootable media with a:
• CD writer
• Normal diskette drive or an LS-120 diskette drive
Creating a Bootable CD
Follow the instructions provided with your CD writer to make a bootable CD using floppy
emulation and bootable files.
