1.10 LAN Subsystem

The LAN subsystem consists of the following:

• Broadcom BCM57788 Gigabit Ethernet Controller (10/100/1000 Mb/s)

• Intel 82801JIR (Intel ICH10R)

• RJ-45 LAN connector with integrated status LEDs

Additional features of the LAN subsystem include:

• CSMA/CD protocol engine

• LAN connect interface between Intel ICH10R and the LAN controller

• Conventional PCI bus power management

⎯ LAN wake capabilities

• LAN subsystem software

1.10.1 Broadcom BCM57788 Gigabit Ethernet Controller

The Broadcom BCM57788 Gigabit Ethernet Controller supports the following features:

• PCI Express link

• 10/100/1000 IEEE 802.3 compliant

• Compliant to IEEE 802.3x flow control support

• 802.1p

• TCP, IP, and UDP checksum offload (for IPv4 and IPv6)

• Wake-on-LAN (WOL) support meeting ACPI requirements

• Full device driver compatibility

• PCI Express power management support
