1.9 LAN Subsystem
The LAN subsystem consists of the following:
• Realtek 8101L LAN adapter device for 10/100 Mbits/sec Ethernet LAN connectivity
• RJ-45 LAN connector with integrated status LEDs
• Programmable transit threshold
• Configurable EEPROM that contains the MAC address
Two LEDs are built into the RJ-45 LAN connector (shown in Figure 4).

Table 5 describes the LED states when the board is powered up and the 10/100 Mbits/sec LAN
subsystem is operating.

Off LAN link is not established.
On LAN link is established.
Green
Blinking LAN activity is occurring.
Off 10 Mbits/sec data rate is selected. Yellow
On 100 Mbits/sec data rate is selected.
