14.6 gloBAl Positioning sYsteM (gPs)
GPS is a satellite navigation system that provides incredibly accurate location
information. Receivers pull down information from an array of satellites to
calculate the user’s three-dimensional position. GPS technology can be found
in many devices, from phones and wristwatches, to ships and airplanes, to
ATMs and pet collars.
NOTE: The Google Maps and Google Nav apps are GPS-enabled. You can find
more apps that use GPS in the Play Store.
To enable GPS:
•From the Home screen, press System settings Location &
security touch Use GPS satellites.

The calculator app lets you use your phone as a calculator.
To use the calculator app
•Touch , then touch .
You can use the touch screen to enter numbers, perform operations, and clear
the screen, just as you would on a basic calculator.
TIP: Slide the screen to the left to see more advanced functions, such as pi,
sin, log, square root, and left and right parentheses.
