Do not use fingernails, gloved fingers, or inanimate objects for input on the screen.
Regularly calibrate the accuracy of the finger input to avoid a discrepancy.
Use the Privacy Guard feature (for selected models)
Depending on the model, your computer might support the Privacy Guard feature.
The Privacy Guard feature prevents others from peeking at your screen to protect your privacy whenever
needed. When the feature is enabled, it darkens the screen and narrows the viewing angle, making the
screen content easily visible only to the people in front of the computer.
Note: For ThinkPad X1 Yoga, when you use the screen in the portrait orientation, the Privacy Guard feature
does not work even if it is enabled.
By default, the Privacy Guard feature is disabled. To enable or disable this feature, do one of the following:
Press Fn+D.
Press F12 (when the Fn Lock indicator is off) or Fn+F12 (when the Fn Lock indicator is on).
Open the Start menu and then click Lenovo Vantage Hardware Settings Audio/Visual. Locate the
Privacy Guard section to turn on or turn off the switch.
Note: You will be prompted by the on-screen display every time the feature is enabled or disabled.
Automatic Privacy Guard feature for passwords
Note: The automatic Privacy Guard feature for passwords is not supported on computers with the Ubuntu
operating system.
When the Privacy Guard feature is disabled, you can select the automatic Privacy Guard feature for
passwords. Once selected and a password input field is detected on the screen, the feature will turn on
automatically to protect your password from being peeked at by others. When no password input field is
detected on the screen, the feature will turn off automatically. To select this feature:
1. Open the Start menu and then click Lenovo Vantage Hardware Settings Audio/Visual.
2. Locate the Privacy Guard section, and then select Enable this feature when typing passwords.
