1.1.4 No-Load Operation - REQUIRED
The VRM shall operate at all load conditions from maximum current down to zero load. In practice
the VID code generated when no processors are installed (true zero-load condition) will turn off the
VRM output. During ‘no load’ conditions the VRM does not need to meet the output regulation
specifications described in Section 1.1.3, but its output must not exceed 110% of the value of the
maximum DC output voltage (VID set-point voltage), and it must not trigger over-voltage fault
detection circuitry.
When the VRM is loaded with the Icc

listed in Table 1-1, it must regulate and source current
without triggering failures or causing control signal malfunction.
