1.PressandholdthepowerbuttoneitheryourcomputerortheconnectedThinkPadOneLinkDockor
ThinkPadOneLinkProDock(hereinaftercalledthedock)untilthecomputerturnsoff.Afterthecomputer
isturnedoff,restartbypressingthepowerbutton.Ifthecomputerdoesnotturnon,continuewithstep2.
Note:Donotremovethebatteryconnectorandtheacpoweradapterorthebatteryconnectorandthe
docktoresetthecomputer.
2.Whilethecomputeristurnedoff,removeallpowersourcesfromthecomputer(batteryconnectorand
theacpoweradapterorbatteryconnectorandthedock).Holddownthepowerbuttonfor10seconds.
Plugintheacpoweradapterorthedockwhilekeepingthebatteryoutofthecomputer.Ifthecomputer
doesnotturnbackon,continuewithstep3.
Note:OncethecomputerstartsupandenterstheWindowsenvironment,usethepropershutdown
proceduretoturnthecomputeroff.Oncethecomputerisoff,reattachthebatteryandrestartthe
computer.Ifthecomputerdoesnotstartwiththebatteryreattached,removethebatteryandagain
startwithstep2.Ifthecomputerstartswithacpowerbutdoesnotstartwhenthebatteryisattached,
calltheCustomerSupportCenterforsupport.
3.Whilethecomputerisoff,removeallsourcesofpower(batteryandtheacpoweradapter).Removeall
externaldevicesthatareattachedtoyourcomputer(keyboard,mouse,printer,scanner,andsoon).
Repeatstep2.Ifstep2isunsuccessful,continuewithstep4.
Note:Thefollowingstepsinvolveremovingstaticsensitivecomponentsfromyourcomputer.Makesure
thatyouareproperlygroundedandremoveallsourcesofpowerattachedtothecomputer.Ifyouare
uncomfortableorunsureaboutremovingcomponents,calltheCustomerSupportCenterforassistance.
4.Whilethecomputerisoff,removeallsourcesofpowerandexternalhardware.Removeanynon-original
memorymoduleaddedtoyourcomputer.Afterremovingtheextramemorymoduleandreinstallingthe
originalmemorymodule,repeatstep2.Ifthecomputerstilldoesnotturnon,consulttheusermanual
forothercustomer-replaceablecomponentsthatareattachedtoyourcomputer.
Ifthecomputerstilldoesnotstartup,calltheCustomerSupportCenterandaCustomerSupportSpecialist
willassistyou.
Spillsonthekeyboard
Withamobilecomputer,thereareincreasedchancesofspillingliquidsonthekeyboard.Becausemost
liquidsconductelectricity,liquidspilledonthekeyboardcouldcreatenumerousshortcircuits,potentially
causingirreparabledamagetoyourcomputer.
Ifyouspillsomethingonyourcomputer:
Attention:Besurethatnoliquidcreatesashortcircuitbetweenyouandtheacpoweradapter(ifinuse).
Althoughyoumightlosesomedataorworkbyturningoffthecomputerimmediately,leavingthecomputer
onmightmakeyourcomputerunusable.
1.Carefullyunplugtheacpoweradapterimmediately.
2.Turnoffthecomputerimmediately.Ifthecomputerdoesnotturnoff,removethebattery.Themore
quicklyyoustopthecurrentfrompassingthroughthecomputerthemorelikelyyouwillreducedamage
fromshortcircuits.
3.Waituntilyouarecertainthatalltheliquidisdrybeforeturningonyourcomputer.
Note:Ifyouwanttoreplaceyourkeyboard,youcanpurchaseanewone.
