Staticelectricityprevention
Staticelectricity,althoughharmlesstoyou,canseriouslydamagecomputercomponentsandoptions.
Improperhandlingofstatic-sensitivepartscancausedamagetothepart.Whenyouunpackanoptionor
aCRU,donotopenthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthepartuntiltheinstructionsdirectyou
toinstallthepart.
WhenyouhandleoptionsorCRUs,orperformanyworkinsidethecomputer,takethefollowingprecautions
toavoidstatic-electricitydamage:
Limityourmovement.Movementcancausestaticelectricitytobuilduparoundyou.
Alwayshandlecomponentscarefully.Handleadapters,memorymodules,andothercircuitboardsbythe
edges.Nevertouchexposedcircuitry.
Preventothersfromtouchingcomponents.
Whenyouinstallastatic-sensitiveoptionorCRU,touchthestatic-protectivepackagethatcontainsthe
parttoametalexpansion-slotcoverorotherunpaintedmetalsurfaceonthecomputerforatleasttwo
seconds.Thisreducesstaticelectricityinthepackageandyourbody.
Whenpossible,removethestatic-sensitivepartfromthestatic-protectivepackageandinstallthepart
withoutsettingitdown.Whenthisisnotpossible,placethestatic-protectivepackageonasmooth,
levelsurfaceandplacethepartonthepackage.
Donotplacethepartonthecomputercoverorothermetalsurface.
Replacingthecoin-cellbattery
Beforeyoustart,printtheseinstructionsandread“Importantsafetyinformation”onpagevi.

Ifthecoin-cellbatteryisincorrectlyreplaced,thereisdangerofanexplosion.Thecoin-cellbattery
containsasmallamountofharmfulsubstances.Toavoidpossibleinjury:
ReplaceonlywithabatteryofthetyperecommendedbyLenovo.
Keepthebatteryawayfromfire.
Donotexposeittoexcessiveheat.
Donotexposeittowaterorrain.
Donotshort-circuitit.
