Solution:Checkwhetheranyoptionhasbeenselectedtodisableyourcomputerfromenteringsleep
orhibernationmode.
Ifyourcomputertriestoentersleepmodebuttherequestisrejected,thedeviceattachedtotheUSB
connectormighthavebeendisabled.Ifthisoccurs,doahot-unplug-and-plugoperationfortheUSB
device.

Harddiskdriveandhybriddriveproblems
•Problem:Theharddiskdriveorhybriddrivemakesarattlingnoiseintermittently.
Solution:Therattlingnoisemightbeheard:
–Whentheharddiskdriveorhybriddrivebeginsorfinishesgettingaccesstodata.
–Whenyoucarrytheharddiskdriveorhybriddrive.
–Whenyoucarryyourcomputer.
Thisisanormalcharacteristicofaharddiskdriveorhybriddriveandisnotadefect.
•Problem:Theharddiskdriveorhybriddrivedoesnotwork.
Solution:OntheBootmenuofThinkPadSetup,makesurethattheharddiskdriveorhybriddriveison
theBootpriorityorderlist.IfitisontheExcludedfrombootorderlist,itisdisabled.Selecttheentry
foritonthelistandpresstheShift+1key.ThismovestheentrytotheBootpriorityorderlist.
•Problem:Aftersettingaharddiskpasswordontheharddiskdriveorhybriddriveofthecomputer,you
movedthedrivetoanothercomputer.Nowyoucannotunlocktheharddiskpassword.
Solution:Yourcomputersupportsanenhancedpasswordalgorithm.Computersolderthanyoursmight
notsupportsuchasecurityfunction.
Asolid-statedriveproblem
Problem:WhenyoucompressfilesorfoldersbyuseofthedatacompressionfunctioninWindows,and
thendecompressthem,theprocessofwritingtoorreadingfromthefilesorfoldersisslow.
Solution:ApplythediskdefragmentationtoolinWindowsforfasteraccesstothedata.
Asoftwareproblem
Problem:Aapplicationdoesnotruncorrectly.
Solution:Makesurethattheproblemisnotbeingcausedbytheapplication.
Checkthatyourcomputerhastheminimumrequiredmemorytoruntheapplication.Refertothemanuals
suppliedwiththeapplication.
