–Checkthemonitortypeand,ifnecessary,updatethedriverbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoan
electricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
6.ClicktheMonitortab.Checkthemonitorinformationwindowtomakesurethatthemonitortype
iscorrect.Ifitis,clickOKtoclosethewindow;otherwisedothefollowing.
7.Ifmorethanonemonitortypeisdisplayed,selectGenericPnPMonitororGenericNon-PnP
Monitor.
8.ClickProperties.Ifyouarepromptedforanadministratorpasswordorconfirmation,typethe
passwordorprovideconfirmation.
9.ClicktheDrivertab.
10.ClickUpdateDriver.
11.ClickBrowsemycomputerfordriversoftware,andthenclickLetmepickfromalistof
devicedriversonmycomputer.
12.CleartheShowcompatiblehardwarecheckbox.
13.Selectyourmonitormanufacturerandmodel.
14.Afterupdatingthedriver,clickClose.
15.SetResolution.
Note:Tochangethecolorsettings,selecttheMonitortab,thensetColors.
16.ClickOK.
•Problem:Thescreenisunreadableordistorted.
Solution:Makesurethat:
–Themonitorinformationiscorrectandtheappropriatemonitortypeisselected.Refertothesolution
totheaboveproblem.
–Makesurethatanappropriaterefreshrateisselectedbydoingthefollowing:
1.Connecttheexternalmonitortothemonitorconnector,andthenconnectthemonitortoan
electricaloutlet.
2.Turnontheexternalmonitorandthecomputer.
3.Right-clickonthedesktop,andclickScreenresolution.
Note:Ifyourcomputercannotdetecttheexternalmonitor,clicktheDetectbutton.
4.Clicktheiconforthedesiredmonitor(theMonitor-2iconisfortheexternalmonitor).
5.ClickAdvancedSettings.
