Advancing to the next chapter
(track)
Press ¢ (¡ ¢ on the front panel).
• Press to skip forward to the next chapter (track).
• When a CD is playing, you can advance more than one
track forward by pressing and holding ¢ and
releasing when the desired track number appears in
the display window.
Skipping back to the previous
chapter (track)
Press 4 (4 1 on the front panel).
• Press once to skip back to the start of the chapter
(track) currently playing.
• Press twice to skip back to the start of the previous
chapter (track).
• When a CD is playing, you can skip back to the track
you want to hear by pressing and holding 4 and
releasing when the desired track number appears in
the display window.

– DVD/Video CD/CD
Fast forward scanning
Press and hold ¡ (¡ ¢ on the front panel)
during playback.
• Release ¡ when you reach the desired location.
Normal playback resumes.
• Two speeds of scanning, “SCAN 1” and “SCAN 2”,
are performed in the forward direction, with “SCAN
2” being the faster of the two scanning speeds.
• When the flashing “SCAN 1” on the screen changes
to a flashing “SCAN 2”, fast forward scanning will
continue even if the button is released. When the
desired location has been reached, press PLAY 3.
• Variable speed scanning is also possible using MULTI
DIAL on the remote controller (page 53).
Fast reverse scanning
Press and hold 1 (4 1 on the front panel)
during playback.
• Release 1 when you reach the desired location.
Normal playback resumes.
• The three scanning speeds that this player uses
increase in speed from “SCAN 1” to “SCAN 3”
• On DVDs, when the flashing “SCAN 2” on the screen
changes to a flashing “SCAN 3”, fast reverse
scanning will continue even if the button is released.
On Video CDs and CDs, the scanning speeds are
“SCAN 1” and “SCAN 2”. When the desired location
has been reached, press PLAY 3.
• Variable speed scanning is also possible using MULTI
DIAL on the remote controller (page 53).
