SGM PilotBox Function Overview

6 Function Overview

The SGM PilotBox provides you with the following functions:

 Support of the IEC 61851 standard, charging method Mode 3

- Pilot signal generation and monitoring incl. duty cycle for signalling

the max. charging current

- Proxmity / resistance coding detection of the charging cable

- Load contactor control

- Connector locking control and monitoring

- Ventilation control and monitoring

 Additional functions for "Stand-Alone" operation and operation with a

control logic

- Release input

- Output signal "charging cable detected" (PlugIn Detection)

- Output signal for stating the detected cable capacity (resistance

coding)

- Inputs for determining the maximum charging current to be sig-

nalled via the pilot signal

 Additional functions for controlling the Mennekes actuator for con-

nector locking

- Internal generation of the supply for the Mennekes actuator (12 V)

when operating with 24 V

- Integrated emergency power supply for opening the connector

locking o the Mennekes actuator in case of a power failure or other

failures
