8.2 Exposure controls
Engineering
Measures/Controls
Good general ventilation should be used. Ventilation rates should be matched to conditions.
If applicable, use process enclosures, local exhaust ventilation, or other engineering controls
to maintain airborne levels below recommended exposure limits. If exposure limits have not
been established, maintain airborne levels to an acceptable level.
Personal Protective Equipment
Respiratory
Follow the OSHA respirator regulations found in 29 CFR 1910.134 or European Standard
EN 149. Use a NIOSH/MSHA or European Standard EN 149 approved respirator if
exposure limits are exceeded or symptoms are experienced.
Eye/Face
Wear chemical splash safety goggles.
Skin/Body
Wear protective gloves and protective clothing impervious to this material.
General Industrial
Hygiene Considerations
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. Do not get in eyes or
on skin or clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water after handling and before eating,
drinking, using tobacco or using the toilet. Provide readily accessible eye wash stations &
safety showers. Destroy contaminated leather articles. Launder or discard contaminated
clothing.
Environmental
Exposure Controls
Avoid release to the environment. Follow best practice for site management and disposal of
waste.
