INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Control panel # ITEM DESCRIPTION Power Press to turn your dryer on. If your dryer is on for more than 10 minutes without any buttons being pressed, it automatically goes into stand-by. Wrinkle Prevent Press once to add the wrinkle prevent step into the operating program. Press again to cancel selection. When active, Wrinkle Prevent provides about 90 minutes of intermittent tumbling in unheated air at the end of the cycle to reduce wrinkling.

An iron indicator appears on the right side of the display. The dryer beeps for 10 seconds when the moisture in the clothes is ideal for ironing. At this time, you can take those garments out and continue drying the remaining clothes by pressing Start/Pause. Note: The dryer will not stop drying if you don't take garments out.

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS Installing your dryer and washer vertically Your dryer can be stacked on top of the NS-FWM27W1 washing machine, using the included stacking kit. See “Stacking your washer and dryer (optional)” on page 25 for stacking instructions. Leave at least two inches between your appliances’ sides and any surrounding walls. Position the back of your appliances at least 2 in. (5.1 cm) away from the wall.

Front Load Electric Dryer Step 4: Installing the drain hose (optional) You can set up your dryer to automatically drain water with the included drain hose. If you don’t want to connect the drain hose, water will collect in the water reservoir and you’ll need to empty it after each use. 1 Remove the drain hose from the holder. Drain hose 2 Disconnect the hose from the water reservoir inflow.

Front Load Electric Dryer Stacking your washer and dryer (optional) With the included stacking kit, your dryer can be stacked on top of your NS-FWM27W1 2.7 cu. ft. washer. This kit is not approved for stacking with other models. Before you begin, make sure that you have the correct washer model and a drill. WARNING: • This stacking kit only works with the Insignia brand washer (NS-FWM27W1) and dryer (NS-FDRE44W1/NS-FDRE44W1-C).

Front Load Electric Dryer 9 Using the two connecting brackets as guides, use a 3 mm drill bit to drill holes into the washer to connect the brackets (two holes per bracket). Use the left bracket on the left side and the right bracket on the right side. Note: There are no pilot screw holes in the washer. You must drill directly into the washer cover. Make sure that you use a 3 mm drill bit. Note: The connecting brackets are labeled L (left) and R (right).
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS 12 Mount the connecting brackets to the back of the washer. Note: Hand tighten the self-drilling screws. Don't use an electric screwdriver, and don't over-tighten the screws. 13 Turn the dryer feet clockwise to tighten them until the four metal support brackets come in contact with the top of the washer and your dryer is stable in position.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 1 Press and hold both the (volume) and Damp Alert buttons for three seconds. The child lock light turns on. 2 To turn off the child lock, press and hold both the (volume) and Damp Alert buttons for three seconds. The child lock light turns off. Cleaning the lint filters WARNING: • Do not operate your dryer without the lint filter in place. • Do not use a damaged or broken lint filter. This may reduce performance and/or cause a fire.

Front Load Electric Dryer Cleaning the base filter 1 Push down on both tabs simultaneously, then tilt the base filter cover forward and remove it. 2 Unlock three locking levers that hold the filter in place. 3 Pull the handle to remove the base filter. Filter base 4 Clean the base filter. If there is too much lint, clean the filter in water and dry it filter thoroughly before reinstalling. Clean the rubber sealing, both at the filter and handle. www.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 5 Replace the base filter and lock the three locking levers. 6 Close the cover until you hear a clicking sound. Note: • Clean the base filter at least once every three months to prevent lint accumulation inside the dryer. • Lint accumulated on the base filter blocks the air circulation. If you don't clean the filter regularly, it increases drying time and energy consumption. • Unplug the power cord before cleaning. • Do not operate your dryer without the filter.

Make sure that you keep the reservoir level to avoid spilling water. 2 Tilt the water reservoir and pour out the water into a sink or other drain. 3 Reinstall the water reservoir. WARNING: • Empty the water reservoir after each washing cycle. Otherwise, the program will pause and the icon light.
USER MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS Dryer options and settings • Settings in bold are initial settings. The • (dot) indicates optional functions you can select. • For best results, follow the wet load size recommendations noted for each cycle. • Small load: Fill the dryer drum with three to four items, not more than 1/4 full. • Medium load: Fill the dryer drum up to about 1/2 full. • Large load: Fill the dryer drum up to about 3/4 full. Do not overload. Items need to tumble freely.

Blankets • Use the Normal cycle and dry only one blanket at a time for best tumbling action.

Cleaning the heat exchanger WARNING: Do not touch the heat exchanger with your hand. This may cause an injury. • Clean the heat exchanger approximately once every two months. • Remove the lint from the heat exchanger using a vacuum cleaner with a dusting brush attached. • Do not apply any pressure or the heat exchanger may be damaged.
