Choosing the message interval
When Tracking is set to On, messages are automatically
sent every 15 minutes by default.
You can increase or decrease this interval to suit your
requirements. Select Configure tracking > Edit interval.
The screen displays preset time intervals. Highlight an
interval value and press Select. You can also specify your
own interval of up to 9999 minutes by choosing Custom
interval from the list of intervals. A blank text box is
displayed. Type the interval that you want to use and press
OK.
Starting tracking
If the Tracking status is set to Enabled, you can start and
stop sending tracking messages by using the Tracking
button. Alternatively, from the main menu choose
Location services > Tracking > Start. On-screen text
confirms that tracking messages will be sent at the chosen
interval. Press OK.
If you have chosen Always-on override, tracking
messages are sent whenever the handset is registered to
the network.
The tracking LED above the screen flashes when Tracking
has started.
Stopping tracking
To stop sending tracking messages, press the Tracking
button or choose Location services > Tracking > Stop
and press Select. An on-screen prompt asks you to
confirm, press OK. The tracking LED goes off.
To stop sending tracking messages when Always-on has
been selected, change the status by choosing Location
services > Tracking > Configure Tracking > Tracking
status > Disabled.
Tracking security
You can lock the Tracking feature to prevent unauthorised
use. If the lock is on, you must enter the admin code
before you can change the Tracking feature’s settings.
See Setting up the admin code on page 53 for more
information. The lock default setting is Off.
To switch Tracking lock on or off, select Menu > Settings
> Security and select Tracking lock from the list. Then
select On or Off, enter the admin code and press OK.
