SAFETY GUIDELINES - DEFINITIONS
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
This manual contains information that is important for you to know and understand. This information
relates to protecting YOUR SAFETY and PREVENTING EQUIPMENT PROBLEMS. To help you recog-
nize this information, we use the following symbols. Please read the manual and pay attention to these
sections.
This is the safety alert symbol. It is used to alert you to potential personal injury hazards. Obey all safety
messages that follow this symbol to avoid possible injury or death.
DANGER:
Indicates an imminently hazardous situation which, if not avoided, will result in death or
serious injury.
WARNING:
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, could result in death or
serious injury.
CAUTION:
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation which, if not avoided, may result in minor or
moderate injury and/or property damage.

WARNING:
Failure to understand and obey the following may result in injury to you or to others. You must
also read the compressor manual and follow all compressor safety instructions.
WARNING:
Protect the electric cord from damage and puncture. Inspect them weekly for weak or worn spots, and replace if
necessary.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not expose to rain. Store indoors.
Never operate the drain valve if the power cord or plug is damaged. Have the unit serviced at a qualified service
center.
When installing the Electronic Drain Valve, make sure the power is turned off and the air system is drained to
Zero “0” pressure.
Risk of injury - To prevent movement or whipping of the drain hose during operation, the end of the hose supplied
in the kit must be secured to a suitable drain line or container.
CAUTION:
RISK OF ELECTRICAL SHOCK. Never use an electric drain valve outdoors when it is raining or on a wet sur-
face, as it may cause an electric shock. Failure to provide adequate grounding
to this product could result in serious injury or death from electrocution. Make
certain that the electrical circuit to which the compressor is connected provides
proper electrical grounding, correct voltage and adequate fuse protection.
RISK OF EYE INJURY. Always wear ANSI Z87.1 approved safety goggles when installing or perform-
ing maintenance. Never point any nozzle or sprayer toward a person, animal or
any part of the body. Equipment can cause serious injury if the spray or debris
penetrates the skin.
RISK OF INJURY. Prior to installation or any maintenance, drain all pressure from the system and
disconnect power.
RISK OF BURSTING. Do not exceed maximum pressure of 230 PSI. Do not allow exposure to freez-
ing conditions (32°F) or temperature’s higher than 140°F.
RISK TO HEARING. Always wear hearing protection when using an air compressor. Failure to do so
may result in hearing loss.
The power cord on this product contains lead, a chemical known to the State of
California to cause cancer, and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Wash
hands after handling.
NOTE: ELECTRICAL WIRING. Refer to the drain valves serial label for the unit’s voltage and amperage
requirements. Ensure that all wiring is done by a licensed electrician, in accor-
dance with the National Electrical code.
