Turning the Sound On or Off
Press the SOUND/FN button to toggle the sound function on or off. The sound
icon ( ) on the LCD screen indicates the status of the sound function.
Tip: When the sound option is turned off, set the modeling light function to F3-1
or F3-3 to use the modeling light as a visual signal that the ash has recycled.
Using the Venture TTL 600 Manually
The Venture TTL’s ash power output level can be set manually in 1/3-stop
increments over an 8-stop range. The 1/1 setting is the full-power ash, and
each successive setting halves the light output. The 1/3-stop increments are
displayed in decimal form as ±0.3 and ±0.7.
To use the monolight in manual mode, follow these steps:
1. Use the sync cord to connect the Venture TTL 600’s sync socket to your
camera’s PC socket. Follow your camera’s instructions for using the
correct camera settings for manual exposure photography.
2. Make sure the manual mode icon ( ) appears on the LCD screen.
Note: If AU (TTL mode) appears on the LCD screen, turn off the monolight
and then turn it back on. Previous manual settings will be restored. If
you are using the Venture Wireless Controller, refer to its instructions for
details on how to change AU and manual modes wirelessly.
3. Set the ash mode and power output (see pages 21–22).
4. Set the modeling light mode (see page 23).
5. Adjust modeling light power (see page 24).
